He has been awarded The Government of India – National Safety Award – for outstanding performance in Industrial Safety in achieving lowest frequency Rate (work on ships - general cargo) – by His Excellency late Shri. Fakrudin Ali Ahmed – Hon. President of India – 1973. He has been a Trustee of the “Kandla Port Trust”, a Member of “The Ports Advisory Committee” of “The Gujarat Maritime Board” (GMB), President of “Kandla Steam Ship Agents Association”, Vice President of “Kandla Stevedores Association” and was instrumental and actively involved in the development of ports of Kandla, Jamnagar, Bhavnagar, Magdala, Dahej & Pipavav. He has also been awarded JPI’s – Rajiv Gandhi Memorial Shipping Performance Award – in recognition of the outstanding contribution in the promotion of Indian Shipping and Maritime trade Major Ports at “The Port Users and Maritime Meet” Kandla – 1997 along with and many other awards.
